I know, I know...

I know, its been a while since I've posted anything.  We just got the internet again!  Life seems so much brighter... jk!  I don't even know where to start nor do I have anything of sustance to say other than uh, hi?  Things have changed so much since my last post, but it doesnt seem like it's been that long.  hmmm I guess the most exciting thing going on as of right now is Ruby's b-day coming up.  Wow I can't believe that it's been a year since I've even so much as glanced at this little blog of mine.  I have no idea what to get for her because all of lydia and gracie's old one year old toys have been gifted to her.  Now you see my dilema?  Well thats all I really have to say for tonight so there you go.  If there's anyone reading this, ya'll should give me some suggestions on some gift ideas.  peace out homies!

Baby ruby is here!

So this post is about 2 weeks over due considering that she was born about 2 weeks ago buuutttt, I've been a little busy… with 3 little girls, still weird to think about! I won't bore you with the whole labor and delivery story, partly because I'm typing this post on my phone and because there are a lot of labor stories out there that are probably more exciting than mine. Here are the highlights:
Monday feb 20 I had my 37 week appointment, my doc, unknowing to me, stripped my membranes. I didn't think anything would happen but I was wrong! My contractions started coming every 10 min like clockwork so we headed on in to the hospital at about 10 pm. Labored all night, got an epidural, and at 11 am was ready to push. Pushed for no joke 10 seconds ( we looked at the chart later because I was curious). she came out at 11:11, peed on me, and then the nurses. She was 7 pounds 5 oz 21 inches long born on 2-21-12.
Lydia accepted her whole heartedly! She loves to hold and hug and kiss her baby sis. Gracie on the other hand doesn't like this baby that took away her momma! She says on a regular basis "my momma! Get off!" She also likes to poke her eyes, hit her, and I did barely stop her from biting her finger off the 2nd day we were home. It was a little over whelming the first few days, but my mom came and stayed with us for about 5 days. since then I'm starting to get the hang of things. We still have to work out some kinks especially with brig working 2 jobs and taking 18 credit hours this semester. I can't wait till summer! Here are some pics my sis michelle took of her. They turned out great! I love them! Thanks again michelle!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you had a great one, I for one am tired! We went out trick or treating for the first time ever (trunk or treating excluded) and had a really fun time. Brigham Couldn't be there because he had class and his professor didn't cancel classes tonight, so instead of trick or treating with us, he took a test... really fun. Luckily We were able to go with my sister and Brother in law, Sheena and Bradley who I like to refer to as the tick or treating vultures. We left around 6ish and didn't get back until about 9ish! This proved to be too much for Gracie, after an hour she was worn out, so we went and dropped her and my niece Sadie off with my Mom while Sheen, Brad, Lydia, Payson and I headed out to get more candy. Eventually Lydia's basket was so heavy and full that she was having a hard time carrying it and started dropping peices out. This didn't dicourage her though, I was ready to head in before her so after another hour of walking, we went back to the house to check out our treasures. I later regreted giving her any candy, she didn't want to go to bed and was a GROUCH! Lydia went as Dorothy (she's going through a Wizard of Oz stage right now), and Gracie went as orphan Annie. I was sooooo mad though because I made both of their costumes in order to save money, but for the Dorothy costume I had to buy red slippers. I searched high and low for those puppies and couldn't find any. I had to settle for the $10 pair at walmart and was not too happy about the price, what can I say, I'm cheap. Yesterday I let Lydia wear them to church, so naturally after church, she took them off aaaaannnndddd yup, she lost them! I could only find one, so the $10 shoes I bought specifically for that costume did not get worn on Halloween! ugh I'm so mad! Anyway, here are the pics.

And as a Halloween surprise, I thought I'd give out the good news to those of you who don't already know. We had an ultrasound on Thursday and found out that we are having another GIRL!!!!! Totally didn't expect it, I thought we might have a boy but, I guess I secretly wanted a girl... again. Girls are all I know, plus I'm afraid of having a boy. I've heard a lot of horror stories about a little boy named Brigham, and I already have most everything I need :). Anyway, thank you for bearing with me on this post. I hope you found it entertaining as well as informative :) adios!

moving again...

So there are no pics in this post, due to my laziness and current crazy, messy, in the process of packing house. I haven't posted in a while so I thought that I would update so everyone who reads my blog would know what was going on in our lives. I feel like everything has been flipped upside down and crazy, leaving me to be stressed and pick up the pieces. I'll try to organize my thoughts in order for this post to make sense!
Brigham just started school again last month, and is thinking about changing his major from human resources, to solar energy something... don't remember the exact terminology, but it requires another year of school. His still deciding, but he's pretty passionate about it and is already coming up with ways that he could run his business, and his prices, so hopefully he sticks with this major. I have no idea what he's talking about, but he sounds smart and seems like he knows what he's taking about so, go Brig :). Lydia and Gracie are little partners in crime. I don't think Lydia likes her sis to follow her around everywhere, due to the fact that she randomly runs up to her, pushes her over, then runs away so she won't get in trouble. I don't understand it, well maybe I do having grown up with 5 other girls in our family, she'll push her over, then say "come on Gracie! Come up stairs with me!". Lydia is my little helper and she defiantly lives up to the phrase " kids say the darn est things". The other day I was giving her a bath and she preceded to tell me "Mom, heavenly Father gave me my legs and arms and tummy, it's my body."
"you're so smart Lydia! Heavenly Father did give you your body!"
"Mom, heavenly Father gave you your boobs too."
"uhhhhhhhhhh, ya I guess he did."
"Mom, can I have boobs like you?"
" Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, when you get older". She also asked me as we were passing the bra section in walmart, if she could have one of "those" for her birthday next month. Before I could say anything Brigham piped in and told her absolutely not! Sorry I've got one more Lydia story and then I promise I'll get on with it! I was watching Ellen the other day with Lydia and Brigham, and one of those teenage boy singers that looks about 8 years old starts singing. Brigham asked me, why all the teenage girls were going crazy over him. I told him it was because he was their age and to them they can marry him because he is so cute. Lydia said
"Ya Dad he is sooooo cute", this of course freaked Brigham out, and this argument was the result:
"NOOOOOOO HE IS NOT CUTE LYDIA! HE IS TO OLD FOR YOU!"
" Daddy but he is cute!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LYDIA WE DON'T THINK BOYS ARE CUTE!"
" But Daddy I just think he is cute!"
"Lydia! Kyra help me out here! Lydia he's not cute!" Lydia starts crying
"Da-ha-Daddy! I-I j-just think he's c-cute!" Brighams face softens a little,
" Ok Lydia you can think he's cute, but no dating till you're 30!". I kid you not this is almost word for word without exaggeration how this conversation went. Any way, Gracie is starting to talk a little and can say things like, popcorn, cookie, ice cream, Popsicle... hmmmmmmm I see a pattern here. She eats EVERYTHING, like teenage boy everything! Well maybe not that much, but can easily eat her big sissy under the table any day. She doesn't have as many funny stories as Lydia, she mostly will just walk up to random people and stare at them. No matter how much they tickle her or talk to her, or try to make her laugh, she won't, she just stares, with her red bangs hanging over her eyes so you can barely see them, just staring. Thursday Brig and I went with some friends to the Oklahoma City Temple, and had Sheena, my sister, watch them. They had a sleepover with their cousins, and I was a little worried about Gracie, because she's never been away from me for more than 5 hours or so. When we went to pick them up, Sheena said that Gracie just followed her around everywhere calling her Mama :). It was so funny because when we got there to pick them up, I was expecting this big reaction when I walked through the door, did that happen? Nope. But when Sheena walked through the door, Gracie ran up to her saying "MAMA, MAMA!" Ha ha! she didn't want me to hold her, she just wanted aunt Sheena! The funny thing is that this didn't make me jealous, it was kind of nice having her wanting someone else to hold her all the time. I'm looking forward to this relationship in the future.
I think the biggest thing that's going on with us is that we are moving... again... for the 11th time in 4 years! Can I scream without any one judging me? AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Being prego doesn't help anything. I'm not sick anymore which is a huge relief but now I'm super tired 24/7. On top of moving, we have been looking for something to move into, and haven't found anything! We finally found a single wide trailer in our price range buuuuut, no offence to anyone who lives in a trailer, buuuuuuut it wasn't my first choice. We are on the waiting list for some townhouses, and as soon as we get the call we'll move again. Call me crazy but after the tornado in Joplin I'm a little wary to live in a trailer. We are #4 on the waiting list, so hopefully the wait isn't long. Anyway, this post is way to long so I'll cut it short and say see ya!

guess what :)

Did you guess?

That's right, our little family of four will become a family of 5 in about 8 months! Now I know what you may be thinking, doesn't Kyra already have 2 children under the age of 2? To that answer... I plead the 5th... ok I don't plead the 5th, in truth, yes I have an almost three year old and a 16 month old. In my defence I did not plan on becoming a big pregnant blob until Gracie was at least potty trained! Oh boy I see so many diapers in my future... one time without protection people, 1 time! How does that happen? I didn't take biology 2 as you can tell. I should be a spokes person for unplanned pregnancy now that all three of my pregnancies have been unplanned, NOT UNWANTED, just unexpected. Okay, okay, was I secretly getting a little baby hungry? Weeelll maybe, did I secretly wish that I would get pregnant? ahhhhhh, ok you caught me! And I can 100% tell you that Brigham is very, veeeeerrrry excited, he wants a little boy. Here's an interesting fact, the last two girlies Brig predicted would be boys! Brigs prediction for this pregnancy, you guessed it, he's a little predictable :). Anyway, I figured that if this didn't qualify as a blog post then I don't know what would :). Adios!

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home

When Daddy comes home, theres some what of a celebration that goes around our house. Brigham works about 30 min away so when he calls and says he's on his way home everyone, including myself, gets super excited! yesterday I decided to take some pictures to document the joyous occasion.
The first thing that Lydia and Gracie do is ask if they can sit on the sidewalk or look out the window and watch for Daddy...

after a long time of waiting, Daddy pulls in to the parking lot and becomes ambushed by a certain blond headed two year old,

Then a little redhead goes bobbing out to meet him,

then we all come inside to play.
I think they reason why it's such an event for Daddy to come home, because 1. They just love their Daddy and 2.They get sick of their Mommy and want a break from me putting them in time out and telling them that "NO it is not nice to pretend that you're a hungry tiger who want to eat her baby sister!" No kidding I HAVE actually said that :). Ahhhhhhh you gotta love parenthood.

Why I Now LOVE Barney

Does Anyone, besides me, remember those sweet old days in kindergarten when before or after you got home from school, enjoyed watching a little bit of a purple dinosaur named Barney? Then alas you entered the 1st grade and suddenly POOF! Barney is no longer cool but in fact...lame. Well my love affair with Barney has once again been kindled :)
